This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to operate an AED safely whilst learning how to preserve a life using current CPR protocols. The training is an ideal course for first aiders wishing to upgrade their skills or learners who wish to learn to operate these lifesaving devices

  • Demonstrate effective management of an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Demonstrate effective management of an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Discuss the chain of survival
  • Discuss the common reasons of Cardiac Arrest
  • Discuss DNR status & advance directives
  • Describe the physiology and anatomy of the heart
  • Discuss, demonstrate effective management of a choking casualty
  • Discuss, demonstrate effective treatment of bleeding
  • Discuss, demonstrate the recovery position
  • Discuss, demonstrate and imitate how to safely use an automated external defibrillator
  • Discuss the importance of recording and reporting an incident
